Demethoxycurcumin and Bisdemethoxycurcumin

Turmeric extracts are standardized to 95% total curcuminoids. Curcumin is the principal curcuminoid , about 70% to 80% of total curcumioids. However, the curcuminoid mixtures also include two demethylated curcuminoids --- demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin.

Some studies on demethylated curcuminoids have shown that these compounds are safe and own higher bioactive than standard 95% curcuminoids.
